For years, it has felt that the government has a personal vendetta with the popular social media app, TikTok. Since 2020, there has been lots of talk and ‘threats’ of a TikTok ban. Now in 2024, that ban may actually come to fruition.
The House of Representatives has passed a bill that will force the chinese company, ByteDance, to sell TikTok to non-chinese owners or to have the app be banned in the United States. The reasoning behind this bill is that TikTok poses a threat against national security. Do you think that a social media app like TikTok has this ability?
