Third-grade students at Wayne-Westland school district have had a dramatic drop in test scores in recent years. The data from each school shows a dramatic drop in test scores during the 2020-21 school year. P.D. Graham School seems to be the only elementary school in the district that was able to return their test scores almost to pre-pandemic level.
Walker-Winter School has the highest test scores for third-graders. The best score year being 2018-19 where 60.9% of students passing the MSTEP, before dropping to 40% of students passing in 2020-21 school year.
All schools in Michigan have to take the MSTEP, as the state requires it. The scores tell us where schools need improvement in their education while measuring student achievements throughout the year.
