Wayne Memorial High School

Located in the heart of Wayne, Mi, Wayne Memorial High School is one of two high schools in the Wayne-Westland Community School District. Their mascot is the “Mighty Zebra.”

WMHS is the host to 1,368 students from 9th-12th grade. Wayne’s bold mission statement is “Success is the only option for our students. We have Wayne Pride.”

Wayne offers its students a wide variety of opportunities in addition to academics to encourage this success. They have over 15 athletic teams to choose from including basketball, swimming, competitive cheer and soccer.

They offer programs such as Upward Bound for students that are intent on “continuing their education beyond high school” and their own theatrical guild (Wayne Memorial Theatrical Guild).

According to US News and World Report, Wayne is ranked 454th of 651 schools in Michigan. Nationally, they are ranked 13,261st of 17,680.

I am a senior and English major at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. An avid reader and writer, my passions include photography, fitness, and the great outdoors. I currently coach and compete in the sport of Ninja Warrior: a sport based on the tv show American Ninja Warrior. Upon graduating, I am looking to have a career in either the publishing or journalism fields, possibly both.
