Semester in Review: My Favorite Activities & Assignments

Throughout this semester in multimedia journalism, I have had the opportunity to explore the world of multimedia journalism in new and creative ways. From learning how to write, edit, embed, and so much more on blog posts to hearing from many different guest speakers, learning new perspectives, and things from the world of journalism. This class challenged me to think beyond my traditional writing and embrace new tools and skills.

My timeline showcases the variety of topics that we covered throughout this semester, as well as the growth that I experienced along the way. Whether I was completing a blog post, learning from guest speakers, or engaging with my peers in discussions, each assignment aided me in strengthening my research, writing, and editing skills. I also learned the importance of accuracy, ethics, and audience awareness when sharing information on the internet.

One of my most valuable takeaways from this class was learning how to create blogs (like this one) and all the features to make a blog unique, like embeds, images, and videos etc. Working with these various elements taught me how to work through challenges while learning new skills, and coming out stronger than I started.

Overall, this course has provided me with a solid foundation in journalism and digital communication. I am grateful for this class and proud of the work that I have done. I’m excited to continue building these skills in the future.
