Over the last few years, third-grade students in the West Bloomfield school district have consistently scored high in math. According to the most current MSTEP math scores, only one of their elementary schools fell below the state average in 2022-2023.
Last school year, 65% of Roosevelt Elementary School’s third-grade students passed the MSTEP, compared to 43% statewide. In the West Bloomfield School District, 52% of third-graders passed the test.
The MSTEP, which stands for Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress, is a 21st-century computer-based assessment meant to test how well students understand state requirements.
