Third-grade students in Fraser Public Schools elementaries have had falling math scores, overall, for the past several years. The most recent MSTEP math scores, in fact, showed that students at just one of Fraser’s schools outperformed the state in MSTEP math results in 2022-2023. That compares to 2014-2015 when every school in the district had an average above the state average of 49%.
A total of 54% of Walt Disney Elementary School’s third-grade students passed the math MSTEP last school year, while 43% of students statewide passed the test. In the Fraser district, 39% of third-graders passed the test.
The MSTEP is a statewide test administered to public school students across Michigan at various years and in various subjects. The third-grade MSTEP is one of these tests.
