Throughout the semester, I completed a series of assignments that provided a comprehensive exploration of various facets of education, particularly within the context of my school district, Wayne-Westland Community Schools.
I crafted a blog posts and data-driven reports summarizing key aspects of the school district, including student enrollment, economic demographics, and recent budget concerns, providing readers with a snapshot of Wayne-Westland’s educational landscape.
Additionally, I learned how to embed various platforms in my blog posts, ranging from social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X, to interactive maps through Google Maps. In one blog post, I embedded a map of one of the schools within my district, accompanied by descriptive paragraphs highlighting relevant details about the school’s location, student population, and community impact. Furthermore, I delved into data visualization, utilizing tools like DataWrapper to create charts and tables showcasing student performance data over several years. These visualizations provided a clear representation of trends and patterns in academic achievement within the district.
In my timeline, I presented my semester’s work in a clear sequence, showing the assignments I completed and what I learned from each. This timeline gives a straightforward overview of my exploration of education in Wayne-Westland Community Schools, as well as the different skills I acquired throughout this class, showing how I progressed and what I learned along the way.
Overall, these assignments allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the educational landscape in Wayne-Westland and provided me with valuable skills in data analysis, research, and storytelling within the context of education.
