This semester, I didn’t just complete assignments, I created a digital journey through the work I’m proud of. My timeline project became a space to showcase the skills I’ve built, the research I’ve done, and the stories I’ve learned to tell. From school district comparisons and social media blogs to a powerful interview with Nicquel Terry Ellis, each post gave me a different lens into journalism, how data can be transformed into stories, how media shapes community conversations, and how truth and transparency matter in everything we write.
One of the most rewarding parts was seeing how everything tied together. My “A+ for Engagement” blog about Farmington Public Schools’ social media use connected with the school board research I did later. I wasn’t just looking at numbers or policies, I was understanding how communication impacts families, students, and trust in public institutions. I also loved blending visuals and writing, and learning how tools like Timeline JS can make a story more interactive and engaging.
Putting together this timeline helped me realize how far I’ve come as a writer, researcher, and storyteller. It gave me space to reflect on what I learned, and honestly, I’m proud of what I made. I hope it shows.
