My Journalism Timeline: Journalism Through the Mediums.

Over the course of this class, I have realized that journalism is a changing medium that will probably have significant change. The work i did on a small school district in the middle of Michigan will probably have a learning experience and the work on data collection and graphing the data is going to be a useful tool for applying data collected upon websites to a graph. Embedding social media and google maps onto articles to help the clarity of the project and the digestion of facts will be helpful. However the most important thing that I learned is how much Journalism changed.

Journalism has become more accessible to the average person than at any point in human history. That is both good and bad because there is no filter on what is true and what is false. However there is more opportunity for people to become journalists and act as that ethical conduit for information for the people. That is a change in journalism that no one could have ever seen coming. Which is what I think is the crux of my lesson in this class. The tools available and the the widespread availability of them makes journalism a broader and more powerful medium than anyone could ever think, for good or bad.
