Farmington 3rd-grade MSTEP Scores For Elementaries Across District

Throughout the years, third-grade math scores across Farmington Public Schools have told a story of highs, lows, and steady changes. According to the latest MSTEP data some schools continue to outperform state average while others are seeing a concerning decline.

Hillside Elementary remains a bright spot, with 59% of students passing the math portion of the test well above the state average of 42%. Longacre also continues to perform solidly with 58% of third graders passing.

Then we have Wood Creek Elementary which has seen a steady slide, dropping from 34% in 2014-2015 to just 32% this past year.J.A Lanigan followed a similar trend, falling from 63% nearly a decade ago to 4% in 2023-2024.

Back in 2014-2015,nearly every Farmington elementary school outperformed the state average.Today, only a few still do.The shifts reflect not only local changes but wider statewide trend in elementary math proficency especially following the pandemic.

These numbers could serve as a call to action for students, families, the government, and educators.
