Wayne-Westland’s Third-Grade Math MSTEP Scores Continue to Fall Below State Averages

For roughly the past decade, third-graders in most of Wayne-Westland School District’s elementaries have had low MSTEP math scores compared to the state.

In fact, only one out of the 10 elementaries had better third-grade MSTEP math scores than the state. Walker-Winter Elementary School outperformed the state in the math MSTEP exam during the 2014-2015, 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school years.

The MSTEP is a state-mandated exam that is given to public school students in Michigan to assess their knowledge in various subjects.
