Farmington-Hills Public Schools and Career Oppurtunities: What You Need to Know

Preparing a child for the real world is a primary goal for many educators. A big part of this process is helping a child or young adult explore career options early so they can get a headstart on their future. Farmington-Hills Public School District is taking a step ahead by sharing career opportunities with students and their families through social media. With the prevalence of social media today, especially among the youth, there’s no better way to spread the details on these great opportunities being presented to students.

Just yesterday, on April 11th, the district shared this flyer for a career fair being held on April 25th, hosted by the Farmington Public High Schools’ Student Round Table (SRT). The event will be open to students from various schools within the district, providing students an excellent way to connect with specialists in their areas of interest.

Over on their X account (formerly Twitter), the district shared another flyer for a career and hiring fair. Targeted towards students near graduation, this fair provides an excellent opportunity for students not only to explore their interests but actually to have the opportunity to land jobs! Students are encouraged to bring their resumes since they will be able to meet with specialists across different fields, which will allow them to get a headstart on their futures.

Over on the district’s Linkedin account, they’re even providing job opportunities to adults in the community. This is a great way to expand outside of just the district and to help those within the entire community. This strengthening of the community, in turn, strengthens the district, creating a helpful and successful community as a whole.

Finally, I want to touch on the district’s Instagram account, where they share many of the same opportunities as their other socials but also appeal to a wider range of people, given the amount of young people who use Instagram over platforms like Facebook. This post in particular is a touching success story, when the district partnered up with a local McDonald’s to help one of their older students land a job. Stories like this really show that the teachers and faculty really do care about their students’ success and go above and beyond in helping their students get a step up in life.

If you’re a parent of a student attending a school in the Farmington-Hills Public School District, or even just a member of the community, make sure to keep up with their socials. On top of sharing the latest wins and achievements from their students, they share great opportunities for students and parents alike. They frequently post across all of their platforms, and you don’t want to miss any of these great opportunities.
