This semester in Multimedia Journalism, I learned how to research data, use proper grammar in writing, how to blog, and how to embed links.
Our main project this semester was to research a school district. I chose to research the Woodhaven-Brownstown school district. In using the MISchoolData website, I was able to research all aspects of the schools in the district, including race, gender, testing scores, students, teachers, teacher ratio, and enrollment rates.
A big portion of our semester was focused on blogging and learning how to blog. We took the information we learned from our school district research and formed stories in blog form. We used pictures, links, maps, podcasts, and social media embeds to enhance our blogs and provide more information about the topic.
I have learned a lot of useful and beneficial information in this class. This class has helped improve my writing and journalism knowledge in a unique and interesting way.
