Farmington Parents no Longer Pay for Their Kids to Participate in Athletics

Farmington school districts have decided for the new school year 2023-2024 they will eliminate the fees for Pay to Participate in their schools
Pay2Play is a fee charged to families whose kids are in any athletic sport or extracurricular event after school. Kids playing football, basketball, cheerleading, gymnastics, soccer, etc. use to have the worries and stress of money being the main factor if a child plays the sport or not.

With funding from the school and help from the parents donating into the athletics department Farmington was able to allow students and families relief and an opportunity to play in any sport they wish to try out. Enrollment for the sports has gone up, more students are able to join and find a sport that fits while having fun.

If you have more than one child in these events, or if you have a child in multiple events, it can become costly very fast. Farmington use to have a cap of $700 for the year to participate in athletics.

By eliminating the fees families can afford to pay for the lesser fees of uniforms and help with fundraisers for the teams.

Farmington is in the top 20% of school districts that families want to send their kids to, according to a research survey sent to the community.
