During this semester, I acquired many invaluable skills that I will be able to carry on with me for a very long time. Starting with MiSchoolData.org, I learned how to find, sort, and organize data within parameters. This data collection was mostly focused on local school districts. I appreciate using local schools for this class, as it has more meaning when the data is personal to you.
We also had many different guest speakers, who were able to share their experiences and insight on specific topics. Some of the information given to us is beyond valuable, and hard to acquire if we were not so well connected. Lastly, we finished the year focused on federal budget cuts and data visualization, which also connect heavily to each other and the aforementioned topics.
